Cover
We call this the 'pocket edition' because it is designed to go anywhere with you. It is 8" x 5", less than 1" thick, and can easily be tossed in a backpack or briefcase, or even a lady's purse. It is printed on durable paper, nicely glued, and has a cover that resists spots and staining.
Helen Schucman experienced a series of waking and sleeping dreams in which she saw a book covered with pearls, the image of which is reproduced on this cover as a tribute to her perseverance in writing A Course in Miracles. She said the material came to her word for word through a process she called "inner dictation" from a voice she identified as Jesus.

A Course in Miracles is a series of three books and one supplement, arranged as a self-teaching curriculum. It is based on the idea that everyone has the ability to change his or her mind and thus transform life. Presented in the form of a non-dualistic philosophy of forgiveness, the teachings of acim encourage readers to accept what they do not understand. The book offers a remarkably complete curriculum, both theoretical and practical. Although Christian in statement, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes.
The original edition of A Course in Miracles was completed by Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford in 1972. This pocket-sized version of the Text volume of the 'Original Edition' contains the complete and unabridged language as written, with only minimal editing to correct occasional typographic errors and render capitalization consistent throughout.
This Text book is a companion to the ACIM Pocket Edition Workbook/Manual and is designed to go anywhere with the student - it is only 8" x 5 " and less than 1" thick, so it will easily fit into a backpack, briefcase or even a lady's purse. Like the Workbook, this edition is made to withstand rough treatment and is printed on durable paper with a laminated cover that resists spots and staining.
